Sound Pools and Spas is a builder of inground gunite pools. Focusing on a limited number of projects allows the company to remain small and easy to manage, thereby freeing up the maximum amount of time to dedicate to project management.

Sound Pools and Spas was started by Patrick Murphy in 2007 after nine years with his Uncle’s company, Pools by Murphy and Sons.

Patrick gives full credit to his Uncle for passing down to him years of experience and knowledge not only in pool construction, but business management as well.

Prior to the many years he spent at Pools by Murphy, Patrick worked for the firm of Kennedy, Gustafson and Cole, where he worked his way up through the ranks of sheet metal apprentice to installation mechanic, and finally to project manager where he was responsible for the complete design, sale, drafting, fabrication , installation and overall management of industrial process ventilation systems and sheet metal and steel fabrications in factories, hospitals and other facilities throughout the States of Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Enlisting immediately after High School, Patrick spent a total of five years in the United States Navy, where he circumnavigated the globe on the decks of a Navy destroyer. As a Sonar Technician, he was responsible for the operation and upkeep of complex surveillance and weapons systems as well as general shipboard maintenance.

Residing in Killingworth, CT, Patrick is married to his wife Chris, and has two children, Allison, and James.

Sound Pools and Spas is a registered Limited Liability Company that builds gunite swimming pools and spas throughout the Central shoreline areas of Connecticut.

Sound Pools and Spas is also registered with the State of Connectictut Department of Consumer Protection with a Home Improvement Contractors license, #618771.

Sound Pools and Spas possesses both General Liability and Workers Compensation insurance policies in accordance with State requirements.
